Rules for the Road

We gather in Atlanta, GA in less than a week. Anticipation high, we know it's going to be great...

  • 4 TO 1: FOR EVERY FOUR HOURS OF DRIVING, ONE HOUR OUT OF THE CAR
    • If you pull over, who knows what we’ll discover?
  • 2 TO 1: FOR EVERY TWO HOURS WITH HEADPHONES ON, ONE HOUR OFF
    • Who knows what you’ll see or hear?
  • 1 TO 1: IF WE STOP, WE MAIL A POSTCARD. NO EXCEPTIONS
    • Yes, I have lots of stamps
  • T-SHIRTS ARE VITAL TO ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD
  • SLEEP WHEN YOU CAN, BE AWAKE FOR THE GOOD STUFF
  • EVERYONE GETS A TURN TO BE THE DECISION-MAKER
    • No matter what, everyone else will look happy participating
    • And, sometimes, we’ll make it random & pick from the hat
  • WE ALL HAVE ISSUES, PET PEEVES, AND CAN BE DEEPLY ANNOYING TO OTHERS: RESPECT, MOVE ON, IGNORE
    • Our mantra for the ride - respect.move on.ignore (lather, rinse, repeat)
  • WHEN BAD MOODS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE: Say the word, you’ll get space
  • HUNGER KNOWS NO SCHEDULE: SPEAK UP, YOU’LL BE FED
    • yes, the same thing goes for beverages
    • and, yes, bathroom breaks need just be requested
  • MIND YOUR STUFF, YOUR STUFF WILL FOLLOW YOU; BE CARELESS, YOU LOSE
  • MIND YOUR MESS OR THE CAR WILL SMELL (and you will be resented)
